Is it technically complicated to take
advantage of the Open Access Network?
No. Since the majority of customers utilize Ethernet
for their existing Local Area Networks, it is simple
and inexpensive to connect to the Open Access network.
We provide a simple Ethernet connection, via an
RJ-45 Jack, which passes data in its native format
without any protocol conversion or traditional telecommunications
complexity.
Is Open Access an Internet Service Provider
(ISP)?
No, however, Open Access does offer Direct Internet
Access as part of our service offerings. This service
is one of many services provided by us. What we
do offer, is access to the lowest cost, highest
performing Internet Service Access you can get,
with the additional capability to purchase additional
value added services and applications through the
same connection we provide for our network. If you
require detailed Internet Services like website
design and management, website hosting, etc, then
we can refer you to one of our ISP business partners
who can perform those functions for you over our
network connection.
Does Open Access provide Routers?
Yes, if necessary. In many cases, our service is deployed
to you via a simple RJ-45 Ethernet Jack (the same
you use for your computer network) and we simply plug
in to your existing switch or hub. In the event that
you are accessing services that require an on-site
router, we will provide that equipment to you.
Is Open Access bandwidth oversubscribed?
No. Never. You are guaranteed dedicated full duplex
Ethernet connections for the amount of bandwidth you
contract in full.
